Synopsis:
"After months of UFO sightings, one decided to land in a field and an amateur filmmaker, named Edward, goes to capture the event on tape, but things go horribly wrong, the aliens attack causing hundreds of spectators to panic and run for their lives, Edward then runs off in another direction thinking that the aliens will not follow him and that they would only follow the hysteric crowd, but is he running in the right direction and is Edward really alone?"
This is my first film in which I have appeared in front of camera for over three years, outside of college, but please don't expect something as grand as Cloverfield, they had money, this is just a short fun movie purely for entertainment.
This film also began as a spur of the moment situation, me and a friend went to some display in October 2008, I decided to bring my camera out of boredom and we joked about it being like Cloverfield due to all the people and police that was present there.
Eventually I remember a film I began back in college, about alien abductions, but never completed, so I began filming the display in a way that it looked like a UFO landing and the rest of the film went from there, with no real script, actors, crew or budget involved, I wondered how I was going to complete the rest of it. I changed the films ending and some events many times over the one year it took me to complete.
The film began on a SONY DCR-TRV33 camera, which is a standard definition Mini-DV tape camera and was completed using a SONY HDR-SR5E camera, but it had to remain in SD, due to the original footage, its why it is not HD, but I wish I could have filmed it in HD.
I really must thank Keith Parker over at Tornspace Films, he kept asking me every now and then when are you going to finish the film, Id love to see it? if it wasn't for him, I was thinking of abandoning the project and working on something else, granted I wanted the film to be longer and have some of my original ideas in it, but its finally complete and I am happy to have completed it, I never thought it would ever be completed.
I hope you enjoy.
